Protest

In response to Trump’s first 100 days in office, the Creative Action Network asked me to contribute an illustration about what makes America great.

From the birth of this nation, ‘We the People’ and ‘Justice for All’ have been heralded as tenets of America, but these ideals has never truly reflected the reality of our country. Only through protest and civil disobedience were the privileges granted to some Americans extended to marginalized populations – and we still have a long way to go. What Makes America Great is the constant challenge to the status quo, the insistence that ‘We the People’ and ‘Justice for All’ actually apply to all people in the United States.
